How many times does it happen before North Dakota State finally gets the proper credit?
Taking to Twitter and crack jokes, begging FBS (and especially Power Five) athletic directors DON’T SCHEDULE NORTH DAKOTA STATE! is one thing. So is theorizing where the Bison might finish in an FBS conference.
But the time for idle has long since past: If you have an Associated Press Top 25 ballot and you’re reading, your duty this week is to include North Dakota State. And the Bison deserve more than an honorary nod at No. 25 — this is a Top 20 team.
After all, NDSU beat defending Big Ten West champion and likely divisional favorite Iowa, ranked No. 13 in the latest poll. This isn’t a lowly Minnesota team, the likes of which the Bison pummeled in 2011 before winning their first of five straight FCS championships.
This isn’t even Kansas State, a good team in 2013, but not a Top 25 squad. This is a team just a few months removed from playing in the Rose Bowl, returning many of its key pieces for a run at another New Year’s Six appearance.
5 straight national titles.
6 straight wins over the FBS.

North Dakota State earned its place in the AP Top 25. Period.
I know many (all?) of you reading have no vote in the AP Poll — or any poll, for that matter. Understood. This might be the only time you read such a suggestion in this space, but CFB Huddle is leading a call-to-action.
You have a voice through email and social media to let an AP voter know: the American people demand North Dakota State in the Top 25. The presidential election may be screwy in 2016, but here’s one vote we can rock to get the right choice elected.
