Week 1’s slate between kicking off between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 ET alone provided enough great matchups to fill most Saturdays. But that was just the beginning.

Part 2 of the Week 1 Saturday Six-Pack rounds out the Best Opening Saturday in College Football History™ with picks for the second half.

A couple of ACC vs. SEC matchups, the much-anticipated USC-Alabama affair and a late-night tilt in the desert bring Week 1 to a fittingly exciting close.

SATURDAY SIX-PACK, PART 2: Sierra Nevada Summerfest Lager

summerfest

Sierra Nevada can do no wrong by my measure, and its Summerfest Lager may be my favorite of the NorCal brewery’s offerings. I observe a calendar that isn’t at all accurate, in which the seasons break down thusly: Thanksgiving is the last day of autumn; February 28 (or 29) is the end of winter; Memorial Day marks the transition from spring to summer; and Labor Day ends summer.

Yes, I understand I’m three weeks ahead in every instance. Don’t care. By the Kyle Calendar, summer officially winds down this weekend, which means today’s the day to bid the season farewell while toasting the unofficial sport of fall.

SEASON RECORD: 8-4 (2-10 ATS)*

Pending the first-half of results from Saturday.
