2. ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE

RECORD: 9-1 (6-1 SEC)

LAST WEEK: Won at Mississippi State (7-3, 3-3 SEC), 31-6

THIS WEEK: Charleston Southern

Alabama rolled out of its bye week and stampeded over ranked opponents LSU and Mississippi State. The Bulldogs should slide out of the Top 25 today, and LSU is a far cry from the No. 2-ranked team it was billed ahead of the Alabama game, but the Tide handled their business nonetheless.

Derrick Henry is playing out of his mind right now, on a pace well ahead of 2011 Heisman finalist Trent Richardson and 2009 Heisman winner Mark Ingram.

He’ll have an opportunity to pad his stats in limited touches Saturday against Charleston Southern, a ranked FCS opponent. Some of the more ardent SEC and/or ‘Bama homers are likely to credit the impending pummeling as a quality win, given the Buccaneers won the Big South Conference championship and are bound for the FCS Playoffs.
