Projecting The Nov. 10 College Football Playoff Ranking

The second College Football Playoff ranking drops today at 7 p.m. ET. It’s hardly March Madness Selection Sunday, but I’m still geeked.

A few noteworthy teams I anticipate being left out of the top 10 are Michigan State, Utah and North Carolina, all of which sport losses to teams well outside of the Playoff conversation. Of those three, only Utah’s road loss at USC came against an opponent with any chance to check into this week’s Top 25.

Houston, which barely scraped the initial College Football Playoff ranking at No. 25, should rise with fellow Group of Five unbeateans Toledo and Memphis taking losses. However, it’s unlikely the Cougars break into the teens.

Does the ranking matter now? Of course not. Is it ridiculous for the committee to release a weekly Top 25? Some would certainly argue so. It’s even more ridiculous to project how the poll shakes out in his ultimately futile endeavor.

And yet, here we are. Read on by clicking the page numbers below.
