Ohio State Leads CFBHuddle Preseason All-America Team

Your humble CFBHuddle.com publisher submitted his ballot for the Preseason All-America Team at Today’s U, and as one might expect, defending national championship Ohio State sets the pace.

I have three Buckeyes nominated: defensive end Joey Bosa, late-season breakout star and College Football Playoff hero Ezekiel Elliott and offensive lineman Pat Elfein. Defensive tackle Adolphus Washington and safety Vonn Bell just missed my cut.

Ohio State’s fellow Playoff participants, Florida State and Oregon, each have two nominees on my ballot: kicker Roberto Aguayo and defensive back Jalen Ramsey, and wide receiver Byron Marshall and punt returner Charles Nelson.

Michigan State and USC also have two representatives on my ballot. Sparty’s are offensive lineman Jack Conklin and defensive end Shilique Calhoun, and USC has center Max Tuerk and all-purpose player Adoree’ Jackson.

Some notable omissions I considered, but ultimately left off: LSU running back Leonard Fournette; UCLA linebacker Myles Jack; Auburn wide receiver Duke Williams; Ole Miss wide receiver Laquon Treadwell; Utah punter Tom Hackett; Baylor defensive end Shawn Oakman; Alabama defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson; Marshall kick returner Deandre Reeves; Oklahoma linebacker Eric Striker.

Ole Miss tackle Laremy Tunsil did not make my ballot as a result of his ongoing situation, but would have otherwise.
